I am trying to build either a smart list or excel report that just has the customer number and email address for (invoices, orders, etc)  I need to take those emails and upload them to the statement portion so I can email statements.  Can someone tell me what table the email field is in?  I can not seem to find it.  I do not use SQL just the builders.

GP 10 VAT Daybook

My US-based client is on GP 10.00.1727. They have a GP UK install that has gone unused for a few years but they now need to resurrect it.

The VAT Daybook was never updated when SP5 was installed, so the UK client isn't working. I launch the UK Dynamics Utilities and can run the update on DYNAMICS and the first two companies, but the update fails on the next two companies with the message:

"Cannot find the object "dbo.EDCVAT40" because it does not exist or you do not have permissions". I am logged into Utilities with the sa credentials.

The database does not have the EDCVAT40 table, but neither did the first two databases that updated successfully.

Any help would be appreciated.

Found the answer - logged into the successful company, went into SQL maintenance and created the tables and procs for the failed company. The update ran fine after that.

I think we've discovered a bug and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem and knows of a fix for it before I report it to Microsoft:

GP shuts down after clicking the OK button in the Manufacturing Series Sales Item Detail Screen when lines are copied from another sales order and Qty is moved to back order.

Steps taken that cause GP to shut down:

Enter header information (customer id, PO number, default Site ID, etc.) on new sales order in Sales Transaction Entry screen.

Select Copy from the pulldown Actions menu

Enter Sales Order Number under Source Document next to Document Number to copy lines from

Change Price Option to "Use Source Document Pricing"

Change Site Option to "Use Source Sales Order Sites"

Keep Mark All Line Items for Copy, Drop-Ship Lines Remain Drop-Ship Lines, Use Salesperson from Target Document, Copy Line Comments, Copy Markdowns checked.Check Cop Ship-to Address, Ship Method and Tax ID from Source Line if customer is the same.

Click Copy button. Lines show in sales order with the Quantity Alert Button to indicate that a process was started but not finished.

Highlight a line and click on the Quantity Alert Button in the Line Items header (to the right of the expansion arrow for Qty ordered) to move Quantity in Quantity to Invoice field to Qty to Back Order field. We've also moved quantity manually to Qty to Back Order (changing Qty to Invoice to 0 and updating Qty to Back Order to match the Qty Ordered).

Sales Quantity Shortage Options window appears. Select Back Order All under Quantity Shortage Options and click OK.

Tab through Extended Price field and Manufacturing Series Sales Item Detail window pops up.

Click OK. GP shuts down.

 

This does not happen if we click the "X" on the top right of the Manufacturing Series Sales Item Detail window instead of the OK button, and it does not happen if we save the new sales order after copying lines and then pull it back up and then proceed to move the quantities to back order. It only happens if immediately after copying lines, we move quantity to back order and click the OK button in the Manufacturing Series Sales Item Detail window. I am a poweruser, and I run into this even when using my own security privileges, so it does not apepar to be a security issue. I think it is a bug, but again, I would like to make sure other users are experiencing the same thing before I go through steps to report it. We are currenty using GP 2010 R2 SP3.

purchase order failure index was outside the bounds of the array

Hi,

The GP version is GP2010.

When transferring purchase requisitions to purchase orders inside of Business Portal, we are getting the error

purchase order failure index was outside the bounds of the array

Kindly let me know how to resolve the error. Thank you.

I personally have found it preferable to write the actual logic in SQL directly, create a view or stored procedure, then point whatever reporting tool I want to work with to that SQL view or stored procedure. If you're going this route and want some sample SQL code, here are links to some views I have posted that are similar to what you're doing:

I need an aging report that looks like this in REPORT BUILDER (not excel, like the example). The out of the box aging reports do not serve our purposes. 

The formulas in excel to create this are as follows...

How do I write these formulas in report builder? I know that I need to pull by Fields! rather than by cells (i.e. C2) but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Below is what my report looks like. I am using the ReceivablesTransactions table in Report Builder 2.0. 

I just need to know how to translate my excel formulas into SQL formulas. Any help is appreciated.

I configured Management Reported 2013 with Dynamics GP Data Mart successfully but the integration process shows error on "Data Mart Integration" log as "[GL Transaction to Fact] has encountered an error. Processing will be aborted. Error text: Arithmetic overflow error converting numeric to data type varchar."   Let me know the solutions, thanks in advance.

I posted an invoice and the origin is OPEN. i applied payment to it but the origin still remained OPEN. when does it change to HISTORY?

Drawings - Storage Location

I went to add a drawing to attach to an item in manufacturing. I entered all the appropriate details, with a drawing group set up. When I went to add the Storage Location file path, it saved the file path (char(255)) to a field in the DW010013 table called STATUSLINE_I (char(81)). So anytime I call up the drawing, it's looking at the first 81 characters of the file path, rather than the full 255. So when I try to view this drawing, attached to an item let's call ABC1234, the drawing can't open because the path I set is greater than 81 characters in length. What should I do in this case? And why is the STATUSLINE_I field not a DT of char(255)?

 My initial thought was to change the table's field to Char(255), but I don't change table properties in GP as I'm not sure how it could affect any behind the scenes procedures.

 

Post Summary:

Drawing Form - Storage Location - Is a textbox with 255 character max.

GP stored procedure saves the Storage Location to a field with a max of 81 characters.

I need the ability to set a file path of up to 255 characters, not 81.

 

 

Canadian Payroll Bonus Calculation

Ever since Jan 2013, our GP10 Bonus paycodes calculate tax at a flat rate of 10%, without regard to the person's regular pay or salary.  It did not behave like this in any other year.  Anyone else see this issue?

I am still very new to SQL so using an expression was easier for me. Once I advance in my knowledge I'm sure that the way you are suggesting will be easier. Thank you.

Hi KHammer,

Can you confirm that neither invoice shows in the Open or Historical void transaction windows?

I have never seen an invoice applied to another invoice, do you see them applied to each other under the inquiry windows and on the trial balance?

Management Reporter - Security Restrictions for Generator Role

I have set up a user as a Generator and in my tree have given access to certain line items in the tree for that user.    Why is this user able to generate a report and see all sections of the tree when I have not given them access?   How do we restrict access on reports to Generator roles?

Hi Jim,

On these transactions that won't transfer, I would check to see if all the reqiired fields are filled in.

I have seen it before where a required field won't be filled in by eConnect but because the transfer process needs it it causes the problem you are seeing.

I would also verify that the inventory is allocated/fulfilled as you expect.

When I have had these problems before I usually go to the GP screen itself and open/close all the windows and make sure it saves ok and have often found the problem that way.

If that does not work, I would suggest selecting a good order and bad order from teh database into Excel and compare the fields to see what might be missing.

Another way to troubleshoot this is to try and import one of your transactions as an invoice instead of an order and see if it gives you an error in eConnect or a posting error in the Batch Edit Report for the invoice.

Usually it comes down to some field(s) not being filled in and eConnect not throwing an error.

Let me know if I can get you any other info.

eConnect orders invoicing problem

I have imported a few dozen transactions via econnect that seemed to work fine. However, now it comes time to transfer these orders to invoice, but it won't work. GP reports no errors, but also reports 0 orders transferred. I have since successfully imported more transactions that do invoice and eventually post just fine. So I am wondering how to find out why this handful won't transfer to invoice. They all have PO's attached, so they can't simply be re-entered (can they?) Any ideas?

I've installed MR2012RU5 using the Data Mart, but the results from MR do not match the data from GP Financial Summary Trial balance or the Legacy connector.  I want to use the DDM connector so that the reports run faster, but the results are not accurate.  Are there steps that I can take to get the DDM data correct?  Again I want to use DDM, but I just can't trust the results.  Suggestions will be appreciated.  Thanks, Scott

I was informed that there is a bug in IM for GP2013 and that it will be addressed in a future service pack.  If this is the only error you get, the transactions most likely integrated, but should be verified by reviewing the transactions in the checkbook.  One additional workaround step that support suggested was to increase the Maximum number of errors and warnings to a number greater than the number of transactions to be integrated.  Hopefully that helps, Scott
